History: Founded in 1961, The University of Mobile (formerly Mobile College) The University of Mobile is a Christ-centered liberal arts and sciences university integrating faith and learning with a vision of Higher Education for a Higher Purpose. We equip students to follow God’s calling for their lives in an academic community where they are known. Within that, The Alabama School of The Arts is dedicated to a culture that fosters creativity, individualized instruction and provides intentional mentorship.
Facilities, Classrooms, and Theatres: We have a 400-seat thrust in our Performing Arts Center, and within our ASOTA building, we are equipped with many versatile classrooms. These include a dance room as well as a small auditorium.
Scholarships and/or Assistantships: We offer scholarships for our incoming freshman and transfer students. Assistantships are available to graduate students in many behind-the-scenes areas of performances, including costumes, sets, props, hair and makeup, etc.
