Program Objectives: To train and equip students in preparation for entering the professional world of theatre by providing them the opportunity to develop their artistic skills, creative abilities, critical thinking skills, by instilling in them a strong foundation of history, theory, technique and practical experience. To provide students with a firm foundation in terminology, language, theory, and ideology that reflects the standard concepts used in theatre. To expose students to the basic body of knowledge within the realm of theatrical application such as major and minor units of theatrical past, as well as contemporary movements. To mentor burgeoning theatre practitioners by giving them an opportunity to explore and apply their knowledge in theatrical productions. To create partnerships and outreach opportunities with local, national and international theatre companies.
History: Reinhardt University, founded in 1883, is a private, comprehensive liberal arts institution and is affiliated with the United Methodist church.
